HMS Dauntless was a Danae-class light cruiser of the Royal Navy. The ship was built by Palmers Shipbuilding & Iron Company of Jarrow, and was launched on 10 April 1918. It was used during WW2 then broken up for scrap in 1946. For a period in the 1930s, this vessel was based at the America and West Indies Station which was a command of the Royal Navy, first established in 1745 to counter French ambitions in North America and finally dis-banded in 1956.
