Tasman Trespasser is the name of the open wooden Yorkshire dory that Colin Quincey used to become the first person to row solo across the Tasman Sea in 1977.
He departed from Hokianga Harbour in Northland, New Zealand, and made landfall 63 days and 7 hours later at Marcus Beach on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia.
Quincey built the 6-metre open vessel himself. In the era before GPS, he navigated using a sextant and carried only a short-range two-way radio, meaning he was entirely out of communication once away from the coast.
