The Lost Footsteps is a 1961 autobiographical book written by Romanian author Silviu Craciunas that details his harrowing experiences as an underground operative, his subsequent capture, and his survival of torture under the communist regime in Romania.

An account of the brutal realities behind the Iron Curtain. Crăciunaș recounts returning to communist Romania on a clandestine mission to support the anti-communist resistance movement. He was eventually betrayed and arrested by the Securitate (the Romanian communist secret police).
